There is no published data on the use of the weak Lasetron argon
laser for general hair removal. The only articles available discuss
more powerful lasers available since then, and only on their use
in treating ingrown eyelashes (trichiasis and distichiasis). There
are no published studies as of this writing on the use of argon
lasers for other types of hair removal.
Berry (1979):
8 cases of ingrown eyelashes had satisfactory
results at 6 months.
Awan (1986):
11 cases of ingrown eyelashes had satisfactory
results 4 to 9 months later.
Bartley (1987):
Compares electrolysis, cryogenic freezing and
argon laser in treatment of lashes on rabbits.
Malthieu (1987):
A brief paper in French.
Campbell (1990):
Reports 80% success in 15 eyelids.
Sharif (1991):
Reports 68% success with one treatment on 28 lids.
The rest needed 3-4 treatments.
Gossman (1992):
Based on rabbit tests, he determines argon to
be preferable to CO2 lasers for ingrown eyelashes. See also
