Berkowits School of Electrolysis, Inc.

Berkowits School of Electrolysis was founded in 1978 by Barry Herman.

In 1982, Mr. Herman began manufacture of the Berkowits 2200S epilator, a needle-type thermolysis device. The device was cleared by FDA in 1986 under Docket K860056.

Contact information:

Address: Berkowits School of Electrolysis, 107-25 Metropolitan Ave., Forest Hills 11375
Telephone: 718 544-4234 (800) 526-9334.

2002 Update: NO affiliation with berkowits.net

Due to false and misleading data presented by an India-based practitioner who owns berkowits.net, hairfacts contained some erroneous information suggesting that the US Berkowits device was not a needle epilator.

I received a letter from Berkowits Director Barry Herman on 15 August 2002 stating:

"If my school name is being used by someone else it is without my knowledge or consent... I have always only taught needle type hair removal."

Please click the following link for more information on the unauthorized berkowits.net website.

In addition, the same Indian practitioner used to own berkowits.com and promote hair removal there, but this domain is no longer owned by her.

Again, the India-based comany calling itself "Berkowits" has no connection whatsoever with the US-based Berkowits School. Hairfacts regrets the error and confusion caused by Dr. Jaishree's false and misleading Indian website at berkowits.net.
