Electrolysis regulation by state Electrolysis is regulated in some states, meaning practitioners
must be licensed by the state. This is usually determined by each
state's state medical board.
In 2002, a reader wote:
I noticed on your website that you indicate that, in most states,
electrolysis licensing is decided by the medical boards.
I just wanted to let you know that medical boards regulate electrolysis
in very FEW states. The most common boards or departments that
regulate electrology are the Barbarering & Cosmetology Boards
or the Health Boards. I will also say that thank goodness the
medical boards are NOT usually involved. If they were, it would
cost a lot more and require a lot less training (just like laser
hair removal).
I just thought you might want to know.
